Nutrition Therapy & Coaching

You’re here because you want to do better with your eating, without obsessing over it, so you can live a healthier life and feel great.  Maybe you’ve found eating to be a struggle that takes up far too much brain space. Perhaps you’re tired of the diet roller coaster and are ready to find sustainable and realistic solutions to make food and eating no big deal.  Whatever your reason, you’ve shown up and that shows courage.  You’re in the right place.

Instead of a one-size-fits-all meal plan, I want to help you cultivate your intuitive ability to make decisions about eating. While I may be a nutrition expert, I believe you are the expert of yourself and need to be in the driver’s seat.  Working together, you will know how to work with your appetite instead of against it, putting food back in its place as just one of the pleasures of life.

I would love to guide you in feeling better about eating because life is too short to spend stressed, frustrated, and overwhelmed by food.  Don’t spend another day in the clutch of anxiety-producing, dis-empowering, life-draining diets and food rules.

Rates & Insurance

I am a contracted provider with the following insurances:

  • Premera/Lifewise and Regence/Uniform which does not usually require a physician's referral (check to be sure).  Coverage is very good for specific medical diagnoses, especially eating disorders.  Otherwise nutrition counseling may fall under your preventive health benefit.
  • Kaiser Washington
  •     HMO requires a referral and prior authorization.
  •     PPO does not require a referral/prior authorization.
  •     Copay may be required.
  • Aetna may or may not require a referral and prior authorization (check to be       sure)
  • First Choice Health/MODA -- MD referral typically not required.
  • Cigna

It is your responsibility to check your coverage and benefits.  Use this downloadable info sheet to ask the right questions about your coverage.

If you have a different insurance, I can provide you with a "Superbill" which you can submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement. Call the number on the back of your insurance card to find out what your “out-of-network” benefits are just so there aren’t any scary financial surprises. Ask them where to send a Superbill. I’ll give you everything you need for that, you just need the address.

How many visits will it take?

Each case, each individual, is different.  I see some clients twice a month, others weekly.  And some situations just require a simple lesson and a follow-up or two.  For the average person, I prefer to meet weekly for three weeks to really get to know you and determine what the best treatment plan and frequency of visits will be to help you meet your goals.
